What is a hybrid power system?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A combination of different, but complementary, energy generation systems\u00a0based on renewable energies or mixed<\/strong>, is known as a\u00a0hybrid power system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It combines two or more energy sources,\u00a0<\/strong>from renewable energy technologies, such as photovoltaic panels, wind or small hydro turbines; and from conventional technologies, usually diesel or LPG gensets. In addition, it includes power electronics and\u00a0energy storage batteries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The hybrid system can be designed following different configurations to\u00a0effectively<\/strong>\u00a0use the available renewable energy sources\u00a0<\/strong>and to serve all power appliances (requiring DC or AC electricity).<\/p>\n
