
DC Switch-Disconnectors for Photovoltaic Self-Consumption Systems up to 1500V
Proper disconnection of direct current in PV installations is essential to ensure safety and facilitate system maintenance. In this context, our F1 series of DC switch-disconnectors offers a technically advanced, adaptable, and certified solution for use in systems up to 1500 Vdc, and is also applicable at voltages of 300V, 600V, 800V, 1000V, 1200V and 1500V.
Photovoltaic system protection with load breaking up to 40A
The F1 series devices are designed in accordance with IEC/EN 60947-3, with DC-PV1 / DC-PV2 utilization categories, ensuring safe switching of DC circuits.
They support a rated thermal current (Ith) of up to 40 A, offer an insulation voltage of up to 1500 Vdc, and feature a rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) of 8000 V. These characteristics make them ideal for installation between solar strings and the inverter, or within DC protection boxes.
Flexible electrical schemes: reconfigurable 2P and 4P configurations
One of the key technical features is the ability to operate with diferent switching configurations, thanks to reconfigurable brindging links, allowing the switch to be adapted as follows:
- 2-pole (2P) for one solar string
- 4-pole (4P) for two independent strings
- 4-pole (4P) for one string in parallel (2P + 2P) or advanced dual-circuit configurations
This flexibility reduces the need to stock multiple versions and allows installers and system integrators to quickly adapt on-site to specific project requirements.
Quick and easy installation with enclosure options
The F1 range supports multiple installation and mounting types (panel mounting, door interlock, DIN rail), and includes IP66 enclosure solutions. The most commonly used configurations in residential and commercial PV installations include:
- DIN Rail Mounting (DB): compact, easy to install, and compatible with standard DC protection boxes. Its compact size facilitates easy integration with surge protection devices, fuse holders, etc., ensuring optimal system protection.
- Plastic Enclosure (EP) with black handle: made of highly durable materials with IP66 protection, suitable for outdoor environments or dusty/humid conditions. Enables plug & play installation near the PV panels for fast and secure DC disconnection.
Both options are rated for operating temperatures between -40°C and +85°C, with no derating up to 70°C in the enclosed version.
